Dental Crowns

WHAT ARE DENTAL CROWNS?

Teeth that have suffered significant damage or decay can often be effectively restored with a dental crown. Dr. Anita Jhangiani is proud to offer crown restorations to our patients, designed to cover and support the visible portion of a single tooth while restoring its original size and shape. Crowns are crafted to closely resemble natural teeth and are typically used to address issues such as fractures, decay, misshapen teeth, or other structural problems. Additionally, these restorations can be integrated into appliances to serve as dental bridges or attached to dental implants to replace a missing tooth. Schedule an appointment with our team at Cedar House Family Dentistry to explore how a custom crown could enhance your oral health and improve your smile.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

At Cedar House Family Dentistry, we understand the feelings of self-consciousness and the functional challenges that can come with lost or damaged teeth. To help our patients regain their confidence and improve their oral function, we offer dental crowns as a solution, providing a range of benefits after the procedure, including:

  • Increased natural and ease of talking, eating, and expression
  • Easy, individualized procedure that requires minimal down time
  • Renewed function and appearance of teeth and mouth
  • Long-lasting outcomes that can keep patients satisfied for years to come

THE DENTAL CROWN PROCEDURE

The dental crown procedure for our patients generally occurs in two stages. During your first appointment, your dentist will numb the affected tooth and may offer sedation dentistry options to enhance your comfort if desired. After removing the damaged portion of the tooth, a digital scan will be taken to create a precise impression, which a professional lab will use to craft your custom restoration. A temporary crown will be placed over the treated tooth to maintain normal oral function and provide a natural appearance while your new crown is being fabricated. You will return for a follow-up visit within 10 to 14 days to have the custom crown fitted and cemented in place. Any necessary adjustments will be made to ensure it feels comfortable. Our clinical team will also provide instructions on how to care for your new crown and share effective at-home oral hygiene practices.
